# Lumin > The calculation and trust layer for astrology agents. Lumin is an MCP server that any agent calls when it needs astrology: it computes the birth chart, dashas, transits and electional timing windows from scratch, and returns the rule behind every value and the source that rule comes from. KP is the method; Parashari, Jaimini and Tajik run beside it, each labelled with its own tradition, and where traditions disagree both answers are returned. Lumin is for two kinds of user: - Developers building agents and apps that need astrology (the Anthropic API is recommended, Google's Gemini API is supported), for example a personal assistant with a sub-agent that picks a meeting or negotiation time, a compatibility checker, or a daily briefing. The agent calls Lumin's tools over MCP; the model never computes a chart itself. - People who want their own chart computed rather than guessed. The recommended way in is claude.ai with Lumin added as a connector, or Claude Code: no code, and no Lumin subscription. Lumin is an MCP server, not a REST API. Endpoint: https://mcp.lumin.guru/mcp (OAuth sign-in, or a Lumin API key in the header for clients without OAuth). Claude is the best way to use Lumin: claude.ai or Claude Code to try it, the Anthropic API to build on it. Google's Gemini API works too, and any model that speaks MCP can call it. Free allowance every month, then prepaid calls. ## Start here - [Build on Lumin](https://lumin.guru/developers): what you can build, the open source example apps, and the wire-up steps - [Connect Lumin to Claude](https://lumin.guru/connect): the connector setup for end users - [Developer docs](https://docs.lumin.guru/build): guides and the full tool reference - [Agent setup guide](https://docs.lumin.guru/build/guides/agent-setup): Claude Code and custom agents - [Tool reference](https://docs.lumin.guru/build/reference/tools): every tool, its arguments and what it returns - [Docs for agents](https://docs.lumin.guru/llms.txt): the docs site's own index for language models ## Trust - [Benchmarks](https://lumin.guru/benchmarks): the engine checked against NASA JPL Horizons, Swiss Ephemeris, observed sky events and the printed KP books, with every audit finding public - [lumin-evals](https://github.com/dinethlive/lumin-evals): the public scorecard, fixtures and runner - [lumin-examples](https://github.com/dinethlive/lumin-examples): open source example apps built on the MCP server ## Optional - [Pricing](https://lumin.guru/pricing) - [Studies](https://lumin.guru/studies): long-form pieces on KP rules, cited to the page - [Book a demo](https://lumin.guru/request-demo) - [Contact](https://lumin.guru/contact)
