Terms of Service

1. These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Dineth, an individual based in Sri Lanka, who operates Lumin (“we”, “us”). “The Service” means lumin.guru, docs.lumin.guru, the app at app.lumin.guru, the MCP server at mcp.lumin.guru, the Lumin plugin for Claude Code, and personal readings requested through lumin.guru.

By using the Service you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service. You must be at least 16. If you use Lumin for an organisation, you accept these terms for it and confirm you may do so.

2. What Lumin is

Lumin computes Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP) and related astrology: planetary positions, house cusps, sub-lords, dasha periods, and the rules applied to them, each traced to its source.

  • App The app keeps your charts and conversations. When you ask a question, Lumin’s agent runs the calculations and a language model writes the answer on the model key you supply
  • MCP The MCP server offers the same calculations as tools to Claude and other MCP clients, and to your own software through API keys. On this path the model in your client writes the reading, not Lumin
  • Landing Personal readings are written by a person from the Lumin team, on request, for the price shown on the request page

Important. Astrology is a tradition of interpretation, not a proven way to predict events. Readings are for reflection and information. They are not medical, psychological, financial, legal, insurance or any other professional advice, and results that touch health, fertility, law or life insurance say so in the result itself. Do not start, stop or delay treatment, or make any other significant decision, on a reading alone. Talk to a qualified professional. The calculations behind a reading are traceable, but the same question can be answered in different words each time.

3. Your account

You sign in with your email address and a code we email you. You are responsible for keeping control of that email address, for your API keys, and for everything done through your account and keys.

Only enter another person’s birth details, or save their chart, when you have their permission, or are their parent or guardian.

4. Your model keyApp

Answers in the app need a model key from Anthropic, which you supply. You must be entitled to use that key. Anthropic charges you directly, under your own agreement with them, for what the key is used for. We store the key encrypted and use it only to answer your own questions. We are not responsible for Anthropic’s charges, limits or outages. You can remove the key at any time, and the app stops answering until you add one.

5. The MCP server and API keysMCP

Every request to the MCP server needs credentials: an API key you create in the app, or a sign-in from your MCP client using your email address and a code. Treat an API key like a password. Do not publish it or put it in code that runs in someone else’s browser. We may revoke a key that is exposed, misused or puts the Service at risk.

If you build Lumin into your own product, you are responsible for your product, for your users, and for giving them the disclaimers in section 2 and in each result.

6. Allowances, top-ups and payment

  • Free allowances. Each account gets a free monthly allowance of tool calls for the MCP server and API keys, and a separate one for the app. The current figures are on the pricing page and in the app under Usage. Failed calls are not counted
  • Top-ups. You can request more calls in the app. Prices are in US dollars and shown on the pricing page. We arrange payment with you by email, or by WhatsApp if you gave us your number. Payment from outside Sri Lanka is taken through a PayHere payment link, under PayHere’s terms. The calls are added to your account once payment is received
  • Credited calls do not expire, but they belong to your account: they cannot be transferred, and they are lost if you delete the account
  • Refunds. If calls you paid for are not added, or are added wrongly, tell us and we fix it or refund you. Otherwise payments are not refundable, except where the law of your country gives you a right to one
  • Research access is free by agreement, at an allowance we set with you
  • Personal readings are paid before the reading is written, at the price on the request page when you ask

We may change allowances and prices. A change does not affect calls already credited to your account, and we give notice on the pricing page before a price rises.

7. Availability

We work to keep Lumin running but do not promise any level of uptime. We may add, change or remove features, tools and fields, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance or to protect it. If we close the Service, we will tell you in advance where we can and refund calls you paid for and have not used.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law, or help someone else break it, using the Service
  • Use a reading to decide another person’s access to a job, credit, insurance, housing, education or healthcare
  • Get around allowances, rate limits or sign-in, for example by opening several accounts or spreading one workload across keys
  • Resell or give others raw access to the Service, or copy its output in bulk to build a competing calculation service or dataset
  • Probe, overload or attack the Service, or try to reach another account’s data
  • Reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it
  • Pass off a reading as professional advice, or as certain to come true
  • Impersonate someone, or misstate who you work for

We may suspend accounts or revoke keys that break these rules.

9. Ownership

We own Lumin: the engine, its rules and their sources, the app, the sites, the documentation and the brand. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive right to use them as described here.

Your charts, questions and conversations stay yours. You let us process them only to provide the Service to you.

You may use the results you receive, including inside your own product for your own users, within section 8. Readings written for you in a personal reading are for you, and you may share them.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS.

  • Astronomical figures are checked against independent references, but every numerical method has limits, and a wrong birth time or place gives a wrong chart
  • Where KP authorities disagree, Lumin reports the positions side by side rather than choosing one
  • Text written by a language model, in the app or in your client, can be wrong, even when the calculations under it are right
  • We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS ARISING FROM DECISIONS MADE ON A READING, LOST DATA, INTERRUPTIONS, CHARGES ON YOUR MODEL KEY, OR ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT THROUGH YOUR EMAIL OR KEYS.

Our total liability for all claims is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing takes away your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Indemnity

If you use Lumin in your own product, or break these terms, and a claim is made against us as a result, you cover our reasonable costs of that claim. This does not apply to you as a consumer where your law does not allow it.

13. Ending

You can stop at any time. Delete your API keys, then delete your account under Settings. The Privacy Policy lists what is deleted and what is kept.

We may suspend or close an account, or revoke keys, if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the Service or other users, with notice where we reasonably can. If we close an account without cause, we refund calls you paid for and have not used.

Sections 9 to 12 and 15 continue after your use ends.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We tell you about material changes in the app or by email before they apply to you, and the date at the top shows the latest version. If you do not accept a change, stop using the Service and delete your account.

Changes on 27 September 2026

These terms were rewritten to match the Service today. They name the operator and Sri Lankan law. They cover the app’s charts, conversations and model keys, top-ups, PayHere and refunds, and personal readings, and they replace the old early access pricing section. They also allow API results inside your own product, and add rules against deciding another person’s access to jobs, credit, insurance, housing, education or healthcare from a reading.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka decide disputes. Please write to us first. Most problems can be settled by email. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and may bring a claim in its courts.

16. General

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including failures at our providers. If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
